Parking at Auschwitz Explained

If you are planning a visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau, one of the most important historical sites in the world, you may be wondering about parking options.

As you arrive at the Museum, you will find a multi-storey Park & Ride parking available near the railway station which is located about 1,5km from the Auschwitz Museum. This parking is available between April and October.

It is possible to reach the Museum by a special “M” line that connects the train station P&R with the main entrance to the Museum. The ride takes five minutes, and the line runs daily between 9am-4pm. Tickets are available in ticket machines.

There is also an official car park, or across the road from the entrance, there is a slightly cheaper car park, both of which are manned. You can leave your car there without any problems. However, it is advisable to arrive early, as the parking lots can get crowded, especially during peak tourist season.
